This project was a renovation to a concrete block ranch home built in the 1950s close to the National Park in Joshua Tree, California. We modernized the layout and created airiness by removing a large central fireplace. We also reimagined the garage. Refinished original wood beams and a polished concrete floor add texture and warmth to the space. The wood siding contrasts the black exterior to turn what was an unassuming block house into a statement home.
HMH also provided the interior design direction for the client.
